Hans Henrik is riding a Yamaha XV750 - Picture coming up.
Yes, and here we go…
Hilli is wrong here… The Yamaha is a rare XV 699 model from 1986. Normally this type is only found in 750, 920 or 1100 versions, but mine was imported from U.S by the former owner.
In the mid 1980 US tax was put on imported bikes with higher cubics than 700 ccm. The reason was to protect the home market (meaning Harley Davidson) from cheap japanese and higher quality European bikes. Yamaha immediatly downtuned their XV 750 model to a XV 699 - only for the North American market.

Here the XV had some problems. Heavy rain during night can prevent the front cylinder from running. The fix: take out the spark-plug, clean it with a knife, wait for 10 min. and try again.
Somehow the bike was imported to Germany in 1988 and later sold to a danish couple. In 1998 they needed something bigger (one of the new Star models) and I had just sold my XV 535.
The bike is old, somehow primitive but very reliable because of the simplistic design. It has been modified with laser pots, higher handlebar and highway pegs.
It can do 170 km/h. and I could not ask for more power. The things I miss is a tank that can contain more than 12 liters, a windshield and some bags (I suffer from permanent paranoia of loosing my lugage while driving)
