Córdoba

We have taken one of our shorter trips today. From Andujar to Córdoba was a short trip compared to other days with only 80km and very practical Autovia connection the two.

Apparently there seems to be a heat wave of unseen proportion goning on here, so locating a place to stay was a killing job. But we are now setteled in at the Hotel Andelusia where we will hang around for a couple of days.

First video

Yesterday we had a chance to upload some of Hillis pictures and vidoes. Here is a live-reportage from the flatlands beneath the Pyrenees.

Andujar

Today we left Madrid after a breakfast with chorizo, pane, juice, chocolate milk and chips (We will not be doing that again). We headed of to Toledo, and to our surprise we were out of Madrid within half an hour. A quick drive trough Toledo looking for a gas station lead to nothing, but the impression that the city would be an OK place to check out another time. Instead we went on the road to Cuidad Real and Puertollano. Waiting for the service guy to finish tanking our bike some girl came up to us on her push-bike and said: “Hej. Er I kørt hele vejen fra Danmark?”. We said yes and asked her the same :)

Haven driven 200km from Madrid to Puertollano we were allready a bit tired. But we had seen nothing yet: Heading off on the wrong exit road, we ended up taking the road trough Sierra Madrona and Sierra De Andujar. This is two adjacent national parks with a terrain reminding of the south parts of Australia (Ocean Drive) and with more mauntains and twists in the road than the Pyreness. What we haven’t imagined was it was about 140km with absolutely no possibility to refuel our tanks (Witch is a problem with Hans’s as it is only able to contain 12 liters). But we made it trough to Andujar after a total of 352km, where we have checked in to a 3 star hotel (nice and with Wifi).

Madrid

¡Hola!

Currently in Madrid, we have toured over 1000km in some of the most deserted places in Spain. The Pyrenees was great fun on a motorcycle - But it was also pretty tough driving up to 8 hours a day with roads twisting and turning every 50 meters. In Aragon the vilas was few and far between - No problem going 50km without meeting cars going in the opusite direction. Then again we would be the stupid ones, driving around in the sun in leather with 40 degrees celtius in the shadow. Great landscape all the way.

I have taken quiet a few pictures, but it is not possible to upload them from this internet çafe we are at now. So you will have to wait for the picturs - And a few entries for this blog too…

Arrived in Spain

Now sitting on the rooftop of our Habitas, the river beeing noisy rigth below us, the bats flying above it, done with our dinner, we have arrived in Spain.

Today have been a long day. Traveling 3 countries, over mountains and rivers, trough rain, thunder and heat waves we have gone from France trough Andorra (all banks closes at 14:00 so no offshore heaven account for us this time :-) and ended up in Adrall in Spain. We drove for about eight hours and it got us 250 km. Driving in mountains is slow and very exhausting for flatlanders like us.

We just finished our dinner at the local restaurant. We had a gaspacho, served with ice cubes and banco tomato prepared at the table. Then we shared a rabbit with fries and garlic mayo. And not to forget, nice beers too. Nice beer is in these parts defined as cold larger, as it is around 25 degrees celtius.

Pictures will be avaible at http://gallery.hilli.dk/pics/050623/

All packed up and ready to go

The time for our depature is closing in fast. Only a few hours of sleep and we will be on our way to Altona Bahnhof in north Hamburg.

Thanks to map24.com I belive that we also have a fair chance of locating the station. A Good Thing[TM]

The plans says that we leave at 7:45 am where Hans Henrik will show op at my joint in Århus, and we will be heading straight of to Germany - Thats 7 hours from the time of writing this.

So we will see you on the other side - Somewhere in Spain.

The route

So we take of from DK on the bikes and catch the Autozug from Hamburg, that will take us to Narbonne in France near the border to Spain. We should arrive at about 9 am. This gives us plenty of time to get to Andorra.

We follow the mountains on the southern side nearly to Pamplona, where we turn straight south all the way to Malaga. We follow the mediteranian coast all the way back, maybe with a shortcut via Ibiza.
If we go to Ibiza we can take a boat to Barcelona and cut off like 400 km.

Map of spain 2

We really haven´t read much about the country, so we are open for all kinds of negotiation about the route. Having a party? Do you know of any open hot spots? -Or if you simply just think we should see your neighborhood, then please write us.
